Nici’s Report – April 2010
This month I was on my big trip `Rock to Reef“ and it was amazing!! I’m so glad that I met all these lovely people that I already miss so much although it’s only two weeks ago that we said goodbye. Oh and I saw sooo much. Many of the places were so stunning and it seemed that I was in a dream for most of the time because it was just too beautiful to be real. I will never forget the good time I had in this three weeks and I would love to do it again! When I was back from Safari I had an empty feeling in my stomage and it was hard to get used to my normal life again, although it was good to go back to school to catch up with everyone after the holidays. In Australia I always viewed exchange as an opportunity to travel, I’d always wanted to travel, hearing the stories my parents told me about the world made me dream big. When I heard about Rotary Exchange I knew this was perfect for me and I remember Rotary giving us a chance to pull out, I never gave it a second thought though, I knew what I wanted to do and I went for it. Now here, I see this isn’t just about travelling, it’s a huge learning experience, you are starting a new life from scratch, the realization might scare you at the start, but this year is about discovery. Discovering new, interesting friends you would never have met, having close to a second family, but most of all I’m discovering myself, I’ve learnt so much in just these 3 months...

Maddy’s Report 30.3.10 Right at this moment I’m sitting outside, it’s the start of spring and everything is turning a wonderful lush green, the air is cool and fresh and I feel completely at ease with myself and where I am right now. Yesterday we came back from France where we skied for 8 days straight; France is an absolute stunningly beautiful place! We stayed in Le Bettex, which is situated among the French Alps, and we were with a group 50-60 people that were all wonderful and a lot of fun to be with, during those days we became a family.
