President’s Report 2nd August 2010
With August being Membership and Extension Month the Club will be have a stand at the Frankston Business Chamber Hot Deals Expo on Tuesday 17th August. The Expo will be a great opportunity to highlight what Rotary does and the benefits of being a member of Rotary. Our guest speaker at this Thursday meeting is Joan Ciastkowski from Fitted for Work. Fitted for Work is a service committed to helping long term unemployed and disadvantaged women obtain work, maintain employment and ultimately achieve financial independence. Assistant Governor Chris Angerer will also be visiting. The DG Visit to the Club will be on Thursday 19th August. At 6am on the 6th July 2010 I woke up with butterflies in my stomach knowing today was the day we were flying to Spain and spending a whole week in the magical place. By the time we arrived in Italy and waiting for our connecting flight to Barcelona we were all feeling pretty relaxed and confident thinking we’d made it this far with no troubles that do normally occur. Sadly that was not to be, in the airport in Barcelona my host fathers bag we discovered was missing, but we didn’t let that break our holiday, simply just hoping Luftansa would keep their promise saying it will arrive tomorrow.
