Nici has at long last given me not one report but all of them since she has been here and I thought it might be interesting to club members to see her progression over the months. Read and enjoy – unedited versions moving backwards to July 2009. Nici is living with the Carter’s at the moment and moves to the Rebecca’s after District Conference.
This month I enjoyed another month of my summer school holidays. At the beginning of the month I changed my host family. My new host family is very nice they life in Mornington close to the Mornington race course, where both of them work.
Their house is very big and they have a pool. I really like having a pool so I went nearly every day for a swim but once I also throw my mobile in it so I had to buy a new one.
We also went tree times to Sandy Point because they have a house there and they go there nearly every weekend. I went once with Anna (from Finland) and her host family and once with Lisi. Sandy Point was great, because we had nice weather and went for a bike ride on the beach (to practise for the Ride to Conference), played cricket on the beach and the best part of the day for us girls was to watch the life savers on the beach haha.
I also went to Melbourne twice and one time I went to the Melbourne Aquarium. I really enjoyed that because it was fun watching all the penguins, fish and the sharks.
This month the weather was so nice that I went to the beach a lot and also visited Maddy a lot before she went. The day before she left we went water skiing which was fun although I was only flying straight into the water.
Yesterday I went with Anna to the Mornington races and we both chose a horse and Anna’s host mother bet on our horses and we won 60 dollar, but after that her host mum didn’t have luck with the once we chose so she nearly lost all the money again and at the and there was only enough money for a bus ticket.
Next week starts school again and on the one hand I’m looking forward to see everyone but on the other hand I love having holidays and can’t wait to the next one.
This month was amazing, because I experienced so much and had a really good time.
Right now I have summer holidays and I love it. It’s a lot different to the ones in Germany, well I should say much better than the ones I have in Germany.
I’m going a lot to the beach and doing water sports. My first host family has a boot and they have a boot ship. It’s always so much fun and I can’t stop screaming when I’m with Maddy on the boot. Last week I was giving blood and an hour before I was the first time on the boot and when I came to the blood donation centre they asked me if I would have a cold because my voice was away and after my explanation I had to wait ten minutes because they told me that my heart rate was to high because I was still had so much adrenaline.
I also was a few times in Melbourne shopping, side seeing and I once the other exchange students. We had so much fun and I love Melbourne because I think it’s one of the most beautiful cities of the world and you can always see a new part of it.
I also had my Aussi Christmas and it was a lot of fun. I went to mess at 12 at night and I couldn’t hold my eyes open until I saw a huge beetle right in front of me.
Well I haven’t had good experienced with beetles in the past and so you can imagine I was sitting strait on the bench and holding my hand in front of my mouth so that if I would have to scream none of the about 400 people in the room would hear it.
Luckily I didn’t have to scream and I didn’t have any nightmares when I fall a sleep at two.
At 6, I had to stand up then to pack out presents. You can’t imagine how tired was, but after a big breakfast I felt like new born.
My Christmas here was really different but I liked it and tonight is New years Eve and I’m really looking forward to it.
I wish you a happy New Year and hope that you had a great Christmas.
This month I was some days a little bit stressed because of the exams. I had to study a lot, but tomorrow is my last exam and then I will be very happy to be finished. I also did many things with my host family this month. One weekend took me my older host sister camping to Wilsons Prom and it was amazing. I saw kangaroos and wallabies went body surfing and relaxing on the beach. I’m also doing a lot of things with my other host sister.
Often we are going after school to Frankston or one day we were washing her car, which was a lot of fun or we are going together to the gym.
For my birthday I got a ten time card for the gym so I’m going two or three times a week to the gym ( but I can’t see that I’m getting thinner or anything but that is maybe because my host mothers food is to good to lose kilos haha )
I also went a lot to the beach with my friends or we went in the spa when the weather wasn’t so nice. I’m really looking forward to next camp, because then I can see everyone again and I’m also a big fan of Christmas so I can’t wait to sing all the Christmas songs.
This month I changed my host family. At the beginning it was a little bit hard for me, because after the holidays I felt so comfortable in my first host family, but my new one is also nice and I like them a lot. I have two sisters know. The younger one Laura (18) was last year for exchange in Sweden and so she it’s easy to talk to her, because she made similar experiences. My second sister is Angela (25). When she and her boyfriend are here it’s really funny because we all have much fun together.
The school is nice right now. I made new friends in the last few weeks and went also sailing twice. Next week are we going to go surfing and I’m looking forward to it, because I did it once in my holidays and I enjoyed it a lot.
This month was also my birthday and I had a nice day with my friends at the beach and the next day I went out with my family for dinner, because my host father’s birthday was one day after mine. Yesterday was also a party from rotary for me and I really enjoyed it. I haven’t seen some of them for a long time and so I was happy to see some of them there.
I also got for my birthday a ticket for the Melbourne cup next Sunday and Laura is making me a dress for that I can’t wait to go and I’m so excited.
Last week I went with Lisi to her Rotary club Sommerville and it was nice to got to know all the people and join the meeting. All in all I had so much fun and my life here is getting better and better.
This month was not as exciting as the last one, but I did also many great things. I went with my family for a weekend to their grandma’s house and it was wonderful. She has a big park near to hear house and one day we visited another members of the family. They live more in the bush and they showed me a little bit around. We went to a river and a park. The sun was shinning and it was so beautiful.
Last weekend I also went with my family to the Grand final game of my host sister and unfortunately did she lose. Tonight she has a dance evening from her school and she couldn’t find a dress for this so I gave her mine and I’m excited how she will look like. My school is getting better and better but it’s also exhausting. The last week I wrote 4 big tests and now I’m so happy that everything is done and I have holidays. I also found many new friends and they getting more and more. The best thing this month was the Rotary camp. I enjoyed it so much and it was great to meet so many new people and to get to know them. I’m really looking forward to the next one.
From tomorrow I’m going to Sydney and Byron bay for two and a half week and I can’t wait to go, because I’m so excited.
In my holidays I went to Sydney and Byron Bay. First I went with my family and their campervan to Sydney to the sister of my host father.
I really enjoyed it, because Sydney is such a beautiful city and I saw so many things that impressed me for example the opra house and the harbour bridge but also the Sydney Zoo.
After Sydney we went to South West Rocks which I liked very much because it was a quit small city with a wonderful view. After two days we went to Byron Bay and stayed there for a week. I did so many different things. I went surfing, fishing, shopping (it was a good city to get souvenirs),I went on a bike trip and I saw wales. I also saw my first kanguru ( I’ve already seen some but only in the Zoo) and I could feed it.
All in all it were the one of the best(or maybe the best) holidays I’ve ever had. I’m now closer to my host family than before and I’m really happy about that but also a little bit sad because I have to leave them on Sunday. The good thing is that my next family is also in Frankston and I will see them in the future.
Their house is so great and from the first moment I felt comfortable. It has a good position, because I need only 5 minutes to the city and in the back of my house is the beach.
The school is great I like it there very much but it’s getting a little bit exhausting, because I have to write so many tests at the moment. I did many excursions with my school. We went to a Jewish museum, I played soccer in team of my school and we watched the movie coco avant channel. I also like the school because it’s easy to make friends there. I found a few friends. Some of them are exchange students and some are Australian. We often go shopping in the Frankston mall, we to the cinema, to the beach or many different other things. A friend of mine and I want to start with playing tennis and can’t wait to try it.
Last week I did my PowerPoint presentation in my Rotary club and they told me that they liked it. It was the second Rotary meeting since I’ve been here and I’m looking forward for the next one on Thursday. I had a wonderful weekend with one family of my Rotary club. We went to Melbourne to watch a football game on Sunday, but the weather was too bad. On Saturday we were on the Melbourne tower and ate at Tipinjaki. I enjoyed it so much.
