President’s Report – 3 Dec 2009
Last meeting was our AGM and it looks as though all is well financially at the Rotary Club of Frankston Long Island. PE Brad has picked his team for 2010 – 2011 with Tony Carter as President Elect Nominee and Treasurer David Osborne agreeing to be Treasurer for another year. The whole Board will be advised very soon but it looks good so far! Editors Note: Tony Carter is not able to be President Elect. 2009 is the Year of the Blood Donor. Maria Semple, Community Relations Officer from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service spoke to us about the need for donors, especially at this time of year. Member of the Rotary Club of Frankston Long Island since 1 August 1986 I was born in Surrey Hills. My father was in the Regular Army. He re-joined after completing World War 2 service in the Artillery. We lived in Box Hill. Soon after we moved to a brand new housing estate in Moorabbin. The family home was there right through my childhood and schooling. After finishing secondary school, I sought employment in the field of accounting, having found it my best subject in year 12. I was offered several jobs (they were plentiful in the sixties) and selected a firm in King Street in Melbourne. Nici’s Report! I went fishing this week with Siri and her Rotary club and it was fun although we didn’t really catch any. Siri caught 5 and I one but all of them beside one were too small and we had to throw them back. I hope that I’ll have next time more luck.
