President’s report – Nov 19, 2009

At the last meeting, our guest speakers, Mike Cotter and Bob Usher spoke to us about an amazing invention that can not only reduce the amount of fuel we use in our vehicles, but reduce driver fatigue as well. Topping off all that, Bob maintains that it has also helped him combat Lymphoma.

Would you like to save 15-30% on your vehicles fuel costs? Photon charged plates fitted to your vehicle could do just that!

Nanotech Semi Conductors “create a neutralizing effect in and around the vehicle which ionizes the materials and fluids within the vehicle, creating the ability to burn all the components of the fuel, producing more power, reducing fuel consumption, friction and wear and tear.”

Steve Cernotta can verify the truth of this statement with fuel savings of 25% on the trucks that he has had fitted so far. If you missed the meeting, I am sure Steve would be happy to inform you of how to go about getting this amazing technology fitted to your vehicle.

Maybe it was being “Photon charged” but my rushed departure from the meeting to attend Oaks Day was well rewarded for a change. I had a win on the second race of the day that paid for all my losses on every other race. I spent the day in a fabulous marquee, trackside, with bubbly, cocktails and finger food laid on all day compliments of Schweppes. What a great day! So sorry, you couldn’t have all joined me there.

Wednesday, 11th November was the BBQ  at Andersons Removals in Langwarrin, where Ros and Russell Osborne have been staying since last Sunday with a herd of camels. They have walked over 6,000 kms from Darwin to Melbourne leading 8 camels and raising money for Moira Kelly’s Children First Foundation (CFF).

The CFF is responsible for bringing the conjoined twins, 2-year-old Bangladeshi orphans, Trishna and Krishna, to Melbourne where they have been preparing for the operation that will separate them.  The twins share parts of their skull, brain tissue and blood flow. Doctors expect the operation, which began this morning (Monday), to take at least 16 hours, with a team of 16- 20 surgeons and nurses working in shifts around the clock.

Ros and Russell have been raising money all the way on their journey with the goal of raising $100,000 for the CFF.

The weather was perfect, the food was great and everyone was fascinated to hear Russell telling his very interesting story about why he decided to walk across Australia with his camels – a great tribute to the memory of his mother.

It's a long walk to Melbourne but not as far as Darwin!

We managed to raise $150 for the Children First Foundation from the small group who turned up.

Ros and Russell were leaving from Frankston today, heading along the beach towards Melbourne.

Don’t forget to speak to me about what you are going to bring to the Christmas Party. It looks as though we are going to have plenty of yummy things to eat so far!  And it’s a great opportunity to bring friends and family and potential new members to meet in a relaxed atmosphere.  I hope you all have Sunday 13th December in your diary.

Look forward to seeing you all this Thursday!

Cheers

President Judy
